Notes: 12/3/04 - An outstanding, 1948 Stinson 108-3 Voyager with the 220-HP Franklin engine and constant speed prop. I'll bet it's a performer! Note the relationship between the registration and serial number. Stinson did a lot of that.
The patroller type doors are nice for spotting game and other fun stuff they do up there. Looks like float fittings on the fuselage there. |

Notes: Now do you see why the 108-3 is called a "big tail"? That paint scheme sort of makes the point - - no pun intended.
This purtybird was recently rebuilt following an "oops" in Fairbanks in March, 2000. This is the kind of airplane that, when you walk around it you have to keep smacking your "touch it" hand. |

Notes: N6453M is still fabric covered, but check out those wing tips. It has the standard 108 baggage door.
Id'a liked to have looked inside more of the airplanes in Alaska and gotten some interior shots. Everyone (well, almost everyone) up there was exceptionally friendly but I didn't want to press my luck. |
