Notes: 12/4/04 - Stinson 108-3, N6177M has probably been an Alaska resident since at least 1967. Stinson correlated serial numbers and registration. Note the "177" in both. Stinson 108-3, N6178M, is s/n 108-4178 - - and so on.
This shot was taken shortly after noon and these two guys were just getting back from a little jaunt. Maybe someone said, "Let's go grab a bite" and they did! Note the square wing tips! It looks like the wings and ailerons have been shortened. |

Notes: There are many little shacks like this one along Lake Hood, I suppose for aircraft owners to keep "stuff" in.
Those big wheels and tires, along with the Voyager profile in general, give N6177M a husky look. It has a metalized fuselage but the wings are still fabric |

Notes: Floatplanes and landplanes are parked tail to tail along Lake Hood's shoreline. Between floats and wheels there are about 1200 lightplanes there. A guy with a camera in his hand feels like a pig in a corncrib. |
