| Notes: 10/7/03 - This beauty was recently purchased by Tom Cuni and John O'Conner, of Vintage Air Service. They are in the process of obtaining their Part 135 Certificate and plan to use the 'Bee for charter, taking folks into hunting camps and other places. When I said that sounded like too much fun to be work, John said, "It will be if we can make any money at it." |

Notes: NC6488K still has the Franklin 6A8-215-B9F, 215-HP engine. In fact, it has the original Mercata propeller - - something you won't see very often. This is a reversible prop, which makes docking and beaching a lot easier. |

Notes: I have observed that the SeaBee fleet has one of the lowest average total times of any aircraft. NC6488K is 56-years old, yet it has only 236-hours total time since new!
The landing gear rotates backwards and the wheels are behind the strut, as you can see on some of the upcoming photos of SeaBees in the water. |

Notes: The instrument panel covers the left side only, so you can go in and out through the right side of the nose. It looks like Vintage Air Service's commitment to originality has yielded to a GPS! |

Notes: I suspect that door on the nose is a favorite spot for fishing! |
