Notes: 10/7/03 - Two pretty Seabees, NC6240K followed by N6386K. The former has the original Franklin engine, the latter has been converted to a Lycoming GO-480-G2D6 and a 3-bladed, reversing prop. The Lycoming most likely started life in an Army, Beechcraft Twin Bonanza. Bill Bardin has owned N6386K since 1994.
I would have liked to have gotten some shots from the front. I must have been looking somewhere else when these guys came into the lake. There's a lot to see at the International Seaplane Fly-in in Greenville, Maine! |

Notes: Power up! Note the distinctive engine cowl on N6386K. Daubenspeck and Simuflight are the two main conversions to put the GO-480 on Seabees. This is the Daubenspeck, which is marked by the large, rather square cowling. |

Notes: Four-zero-kilo was off first, but eight-six-kilo had two passengers and nearly full fuel. Both aircraft have obviously been modified with droop tips. |

See Sea Planes.org for more on SPA and their beautiful "Water Flying" magazine. You would enjoy the photos and articles, and you might learn about a seaplane fly-in near you! If you do, and you get some nice photos, I'll post them on this site. |
