Nations, Boundaries and Times

 

 

Today I was contemplating Acts 17:24-28, especially the underlined part, in light of current events in Europe. Following the scripture is what God seemed to speak to my heart.

 

Acts 17:24-28 (NAS)

The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25) neither is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all life and breath and all things; 26) and He made from one, every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times, and the boundaries of their habitation, 27) that they should seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us, 28) for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your poets have said, "for we also are His offspring."

 

   The eyes of the world are upon the events of the world. The eyes of the church must be upon the Lord of the church, through Whom and for Whom all the events of the world take place.

   It is not important that democracy seems now to prevail in the hearts and minds of many on the earth. That is only a passing thing. Governments will come and go. For My purposes it is not important that communism has seemed to fail and democracy now to prevail.

   It is important only that you have a sense of My sovereignty in this, and that you recognize that in all this I am moving to fulfill My purposes.

   You are to watch Me. You are to see My hand. You are to know that I am moving by My hand to prepare for that day, that Great Day in which Christ the Lord will return to the earth as a King. You think of Him as in infant, and as the meek one riding on a donkey, and such He was. But He is more than that. He is the One who is soon coming again, to establish His rule on the earth in a new way, and to rule as a King.

   You are to contemplate that. You are to consider that in light of the events of the world in this day. You are to know that all things, in all times, are servants of My eternal purposes. In the end you will see that all things have bowed to My will. All that was strong will soon be seen to be weak before Me.

   Men establish themselves as lord over others, but in the end they all fall, and only the power of My hand is left.

   So it is for you today. You see the failure of the rule of men. In that you are to see the success of My hand, and you are to set your heart on Me, and seek Me for counsel and direction in a world that is trembling at its very foundation.
