Notes: 9/20/05 - This is an early DC-6, starting life with United Airlines as NC37515, "Mainliner Rhode Island" in June, 1947. It had R2800-CA15A engines at the time, but by 9/62 the more powerful CB-16's had been installed by United.
The following is taken from several sources. It was sold 10/68 to Mars Aviation but repossessed 12/68 and flown to Lincoln, CA. Sold 2/69 (without data plate) to Frank V. Amaral, who transferd it in March to World Aircraft Sales, same city. The plate was purchased in early 1971. 3/71, Sold to Stan Burnstein, DBA Continental Aviation, Tulsa, OK, who transfers it to another DBA, Concare Aircraft Leasing, who sells it immediately to Florida Aircraft Leasing of Fort Lauderdale, FL, who sells it back to Concare Aircraft Leasing in August. (Does that make your head spin?)

3/72, Sold to Rosenbalm Aviation, Medford, OR. 5/73, Rosenbalm installed a 3000-gal. belly tank, Restricted Category Airworthiness Certificate issued for Forest and Wildlife Conservation. Aircraft had 57,118-hours total time. 12/73, To Sis-Q Flying Service, Santa Rosa, CA, who changed the registration to N666SQ. (At times it was, probably incorrectly, referred to as a DC-6B) 5/85, Sold to MacAvia International Corporation, Central Point, OR, who apparently put this attractive paint job on it. |

1/91, Sold to T&G Aviation, Chandler, AZ. 1/93 to Pacific Harbor Capital, Portland, OR. 11/93, To Barron Thomas Aviation, Scottsdale, AZ. 12/93, To Everts Air Fuel, Fairbanks, AK. When I saw it in July '04, it was in a long row of other DC-6's and Convairs which were most certainly donor aircraft for Everts' operational DC- 6's. |
