Notes: 10/22/03 - N86969 has been in Steve Sperry's hands since 1984 - - 2600-hours worth of flying! He enjoys this airplane immensely and they spend a lot of time together in Maine.
You probably know that there are several models in the Citabria line - - various engines, and with or without flaps. The 7GCBC has flaps and the 150-HP, Lycoming O-320 with a fixed pitch prop. N86969 was built by Bellanca, one of several manufacturers of the Citabria series over the years.
Sperry's GCBC has Edo 2000's, but he also flies it on wheels and skis. It is certificated "Normal/Acrobatic", and he gets it upside down sometimes. I wonder how it would roll on floats.
If you need some diversion from airplane photos, and want a little taste of New England, you might enjoy visiting Sperry Sails |
