| Notes: 9/30/03 - A 1956 Cessna 170B - - one of the last in that wonderful series, on Edo 2000's. It's no ball of fire on floats, but Brian, his wife and two kids total around 400-pounds so it works well for them. Probably when the kids get bigger he'll need a '180! |

Notes: Isn't that a pleasant sight?! Note the speed kit where the struts join the floats. Every little bit of drag reduction helps. |

Notes: Keeping your floats from getting bashed up by the rocks is an ongoing challenge. Brian had sticks under the back of his floats and they had to be adjusted periodically as the aircraft rocked in the breeze. |

Notes: Many interesting old aircraft were at the 2003, International Seaplane Fly-In, at Moosehead Lake, Greenville, ME. www.seaplanefly-in.org You would enjoy the sights and sounds! That's a 1946 Piper PA-12 under the right wing and a 1946 Taylorcraft BC-12D off the right tip. There are photos of each of them on this site. |

Notes: Brian and N3532D getting on the step for the slalom race. Buoys are placed in a line down the lake and the guys run down and back between them. There was just enough wind to make it interesting! |

Notes: N3532D sharing Moosehead Lake with The Kate, a 1938 Taylorcraft BF and a little aluminum boat. If you come up to the fly-in, you might want to sign up (early) for a two-hour "Sunset Cruise" on the Kate followed by fresh Maine lobster and other goodies. |
