Notes: 8/13/04 - Aeronca 15AC Sedan N1332H in a reflective moment.
We were flying up the road from Anchorage to Fairbanks when we saw the "Airport" sign, so we hit the brakes and checked it out.
Nenana Municipal has three runways. There is 4L/22R, which is 4600x100' and paved; 4R/22L, a 2520x60 turf runway which is also used for skis; and 4W/22W, a 3601x100' water runway. We saw three aircraft on a large ramp, including this 15AC Sedan, and no hangars. She looked a bit lonely sitting out there! |

Notes: N1332H has two cabin doors. That's a common seaplane mod on various aircraft. A halfway decent seaplane pilot can taxi in, shut it down as he drifts toward the dock, step out on the float and then onto the dock and catch a wing rope or strut to pull it in and secure it. I suppose they get wet once in a while. |

Notes: It is common in Alaska to store floatplanes on terra firma. You see many little dollies like this one to move aircraft from land to water and back again. That's probably true in other areas that have a lot of seaplanes too. |
