Notes: 8/12/04 - Of the 561 aircraft built, there are still 256 U.S. registered Aeronca 15AC and S15AC Sedans, with 76 of them in Alaska! They were everywhere I went - - some quite stock, many modified but not as radically as certain other aircraft.
The Sedan was Aeronca's only four-place model, and the last aircraft they built. They have a fabric covered, welded steel tubular fuselage and an all-metal wing without flaps. I would guess they are a very practical, lower-priced (relatively speaking) four-place aircraft for the Alaskan scene. |

Notes: Originally built with the 145-HP, Continental C-145, many Sedans have been modified to larger engines. N1220H has the 180-HP, O-360 Lycoming with a constant speed prop.
Technically, N1220H is registered as an S15AC because of its seaplane configuration, but it is the only one that I have pictured which makes that distinction. All the other seaplanes are simply registered at 15AC's. |

Notes: As with countless other aircraft around Anchorage's Lake Hood, '20H spends a lot of time on the asphalt and is trailered to the lake when it is time to go flying. |
